Seo Tips

Website Optimization is a complex issue, but should be known by every entrepreneur who wants to succeed on the Internet.

According to the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, optimize is finding the best way to perform an activity. Therefore, optimization of your website would make it comply with the best possible with each of its functions.

Recall that if a site is designed only to achieve success in the Search Engines, better known as search engines will not be successful with users as the machines do not buy, not sell it. If, however, is intended only for individuals, difficult to achieve a good positioning in search engines and users will not find, therefore, not sell. In conclusion, a successful web site must comply with both their functions inevitably related to Search Engines such as those associated with the usability by site visitors.

We have said that anyone wishing to succeed in the Internet market should make a website that is a true "virtual branch." That is, this should be an extension of your company and operate as a local online. For this, the site must achieve the objectives for which it was created, must be compatible with the principles and policies of the Company, be functional and actually transmit useful information to its users.

In order to reach a site that complies with the characteristics listed above, you must have the help of a Web Optimizer you know how that site should work and how to achieve it.

Problems with SEO

Why Search Engines do not like SEO

Search engines cannot come right out and openly agree with SEO services since SEO service providers may directly take away revenue search engines would gain from pay per click services. As well as taking revenue from the search engines some SEO services may also decrease the relevancy of search results.

There is no official guidance on how to do SEO. Search engines give brief vague guidelines, but they will never provide precise guidance. If they had exact rules one could find similar techniques to manipulate their search results that were still fine in their rule book. Search engines cannot set out a precise guideline that judges intent.
What matters in the SEO industry is results. How did the top site get there? How can my site rank at the top?
Why You can’t Trust an SEO Based on Their Rankings

Even if an SEO did good work in the past, or owns a site that ranks well for competitive terms, there is still no guarantee that they will do a good job for you. Most people who buy SEO services lose money from their purchase or end up buying again.

Some SEOs have qualities outside the SEO field that make them popular and help them spread their message. This help does not necessarily mean that these people are good at promoting your site, only that they are good at promoting their site.

Quality SEO is expensive and takes much time. Shortsighted people see doing a bad job as easy money, thus bad SEO services is sadly a common event. Sadly the entire SEO field gets “tarred” with the same brush for the actions of a few people.

Some firms also sell pay per click marketing as regular SEO. Organic SEO is different than pay per click marketing. Both will be touched upon later.
The Problem with Labeling SEOs

The job of all SEOs is to make search engines believe a site is important (whether or not it actually is). There is more than one way to skin a cat. No matter how you do it the job of the SEO is to improve rankings.

Anytime SEOs use the “us VS them” strategy in their marketing they are hurting the industry as a whole.

Certain sites will require certain techniques whereas other sites will require other techniques. Some categories are so competitive that they may require that you operate outside the SEO guidelines set by the major search engines. Ultimately it is up to the SEO service consumer to decide what risks they are willing to take and what techniques should be used to promote their sites.
Other Problems with SEO

Some SEOs do stupid stuff that will get your site banned from search engines. These people are not the only big problem in the SEO industry. Some SEO firms are too lazy to do a good job.

Sure a site will not likely get banned if you are not aggressive. Of course many terms absolutely require research, a ton of effort, and extensive link building.

Link building (or creating ideas that naturally build links over time) is the most time-consuming and most expensive part of SEO. Often it is also the more important parts of SEO, sadly the process is skipped or done inadequately by many members of the SEO community.
Lazy SEO Case Study

One such example of the lazy SEO firm was told to me by a customer who eventually hired me. That customer previously hired one of the largest SEO firms in the world. Over the course of 6 months they built that client 4 links for a total cost of $6,000. That is unacceptable.

No matter what anybody tells you there is no silver bullet to SEO. Quality SEO requires time, effort, and monetary investment.
Why Personal Education is the Only Way You can Guarantee You will find a Quality SEO

Any SEO organization will be biased toward promoting its creators. An example of this would be the recently organized SEMPO which arbitrarily gave its founders “SEMPO Circle” status for free. If you or I wanted that status it would cost us $5,000 a year. That is an uneven playing field, which may hinder the SEO community more than it helps it.

Bruce Clay offers the Bruce Clay code of ethics, but it has his name on it. Marketers will not get behind an arbitrary standard which promotes one person or a select few people.

There are a bunch of SEO directories on the web. Many of the best SEOs are not listed in some of them. Some SEO directories are willing to list anyone who submits their SEO site (which does nothing to guarantee quality). Other SEO directories pride themselves on rejecting people who do not meet their random opinion based personal standards.

You should do your own research and ask your own questions when looking for an SEO. No directory listing can guarantee quality services.

Senthilkc

SEO Techniques

SEO Techniques are a set of specific tasks that would be performed by a Search Engine Optimization Company, when employed by a Client who desires high search engine positions to attract targeted traffic, with the intention of increasing their conversion rates and brand awareness.

Effective Website Optimization should enable the Search Engines to Index a site, utilising the most relevant keywords, related to the content which is promoting the goods and services offered by the Client. Implementing successful SEO Techniques require's an extensive knowledge of logic and a very good understanding of the targeted market sector.

Search Engine Optimization must be focused towards Human visitors in order to achieve good quality traffic and conversion rates. Page Content should be specific, informative and relevant to a search query. Writing relevant, quality content is one of the most important factors or SEO Techniques, which will unlock the doors of your website to real visitors.

A website is a visual and graphic interface to a Company. The web designer will incorporate many skills including graphic design and expert coding to represent the Clients goods and services, to reflect the quality, expertise and brand of the Client. The foundation of strong SEO Techniques should be developed prior to the website design stage by an SEO Specialist. The combination of a professional web designer and SEO professional working in tandem will result in an effective Internet platform, for Search Engine Marketing.

The are many methods of installing good SEO Techniques, but be aware that there are bad techniques that should not be used and avoided at all cost.

Bad techniques include Hidden Text, Optimizing Irrelevant keywords, linking to bad neighbours, keyword stuffing and Doorway or Gateway Pages. These methods of SEO will reveal very little relevant traffic, bad conversion rates and have a high chance of getting your website banned from the search engine index. Submit your website to relevant or industry related directory's.

A link exchange should be formed by utilising relevant keyword Anchor Text.

Utilise Blog sites relevant to your Market Sector.

Would you like to Get HUNDREDS of FREE Do-Follow Back links in as little as 7 days
and drive a flood of Visitors to your website?

* Are you trying to improve your search engine rankings without much success?
* Have you been wasting time and money on reading SEO eBooks?
* Have you been wasting money buying Text Links ?
* Have you been wasting time commenting on blogs only to find that Google ignores the links you post?
* Are you tired and FRUSTRATED with your SEO results?

If you are, I understand exactly how you feel. When I started learning about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which is the process in which you improve your website's ranking in the Search Engines results, I spent a lot of valuable time on reading eBooks, articles and forums. I found a lot of contradicting information, and a lot of the things I read in eBooks and tried actually hurt my search engine rankings.

But through this process I also learned a lot. And the most effective things I learned are implemented in DoFellow.

How can YOU go from 14 visitors a day to an average of 9530 visitors a day ?

It is a well known fact that you have to get as many incoming links (or back links) to your website. One of the things I tried is buying text links. When you buy text links you can spend about $100 a month for about one thousand links. This comes to $1200 a year!

Other things I tried in order to get links are links exchange, forum posting, buying one way links, writing articles. I found that the most effective way of getting links that Google actually counts is blog commenting. BUT since many people used this system to post spam, most blogs have inserted the NOFOLLOW tag to their commenting systems, which tells Google and the other search engines to ignore the link.

Commenting in NOFOLLOW have ZERO effect on Search Engine rankings, and is a complete waste of time in terms of SEO.

Finding blogs that do not have the "NOFOLLOW" tag in the commenting system (DoFollow Blogs) became a very hard task, and I found my self spending a lot of time doing this task. A lot of times I thought I found a dofollow blog, only to find that after spending time to read the article and comment on it, the link I posted was actually nofollow.

If you don't understand what Do-Follow means
, you only need to know that these are links that improve Search Engine ranking as opposed to "NOFOLLOW" links which are not counted by search engines, and do not assist in getting search engine visitors to your website.

DoFellow finds Dofollow blogs for specific keywords in an instant. It also shows you the pagerank for the website and with a click of a button you find hundreds of Do-Follow Blogs that are relevant to your topic. All you have to do is follow the links, and post your comment. Commenting in a blog should take you about 3 minutes, including reading the article and thinking of a relevant comment, so, if you spend 2 hour a day working with DoFellow, you'll get more than 400 back links within 7 days!

Beginners guide to affiliate programs

Brief description: You send people to a web site. They buy something, or sign up for something, and you are paid a commission.

Affiliate programs are revenue sharing arrangements set up by companies selling products and services. As a web site owner, you are rewarded for sending customers to the company.

For example, by February 1998 Amazon.com, one of the affiliate marketing pioneers, had attracted more than 30,000 webmasters giving Amazon.com wonderful publicity in exchange for a small commission on sales. (By 2004, it was over the 900,000 affiliate mark.)

These pay-per-sale or pay-per-lead programs are usually remarkably easy to join.

After carefully reading the terms and conditions, which vary from program to program, you place a link from your site or newsletter to the vendor. When someone clicks on the link and buys a product or service from the business, you earn a commission.

Harness your passion

I laugh when I see "experts" proclaiming that THEIR way is the way to make money on the Internet. There are dozens, hundreds - maybe even thousands - of different ways for imaginative people to launch an Internet business.

One way which works well for many people is to concentrate on a small niche. Choose a topic in which you are passionately interested, and create a website around that theme. Then select affiliate programs which closely fit the theme of your site and blend them into the site, using text links.

If possible, write about the products from first-hand knowledge, so that you become a respected, credible source of reliable information.

The more targeted your traffic, the more likely it is that people will buy.

The huge advantage of basing a business on a topic in which you are passionately interested is that you will enjoy running your business - it will be much more like a fascinating hobby than a job.

Select your target

Here's what the professionals do. Before they do anything else, they decide WHO they are going to sell products to. (I know that's not strictly grammatical, but "to whom" sounds awfully stuffy.)

DON'T select the product first. Select your target audience first.

Be precise. Zero in on a group of people with a particular interest or problem. Now ask yourself: Where do they gather? What magazines or ezines do they read? What websites do they visit? What email discussion groups do they subscribe to?

How can you approach them?

Is it easy to get in front of their eyeballs? You're looking for an easily identifiable target. There's no sense in building a website and then trying to figure out how to attract your audience. Do it the other way round. Decide who your audience is and then build your site.

Become interested in a hot topic

Here's another choice. Instead of setting up a site based on your favorite hobby, delve deeply and become a specialist in a subject which is hot right now.

You'll find that as you immerse yourself in the topic, delving deeper and deeper, you'll become intensely interested in it. The more you learn, the less your business will seem like work.

Here are some hot topics you can choose from:

* Ebook publishing
* Pricing strategies
* Search engines
* Autoresponders
* How to create your own products fast
* Dogs and cats ... and almost anything else!

You can choose almost ANY topic to be the theme for your site. However, before you begin, look in the AssociatePrograms.com directory and make sure there are suitable affiliate programs which fit your theme.

Aim to be the most knowledgeable person on the Net in your small niche. If you build a really useful site, people will recommend your site and link to it, giving you wonderful free publicity. For us, this began to happen only a month or so after we launched PayPerClickSearchEngines.com

Promote products which are in high demand

It sounds so simple, doesn't it? In fact, it's so simple it's very easy to overlook. Sell things that people want.

Information products are good to sell because that's mainly what people use the Internet for - to seek information.

Digital products have high profit margins and often have high commissions.

Bargains are always in demand. Coupon sites which offer the latest bargains are labor-intensive but have proved profitable. This is a highly competitive field now.

Jumping on new products and the latest fads can also reap rewards for the agile.

An Ernst & Young study found that the most popular products bought online are:

* Computer related products (40%)
* Books (20%)
* Travel (16%)
* Clothing (10%)
* Recorded Music and Subscriptions (6%)
* Gifts (4%)
* Investment (4%)

Get paid - without sales

In some cases, your visitors don't even have to buy anything. If they fill out a survey, ask for a free report, ask for a free sample or perhaps download software to try, you get paid. Some affiliate networks have dozens of such offers you can promote. You're sure to find some that suit your site's theme. These are pay-per-lead programs.

Good networks providing pay-per-lead offers include:

* DirectLeads
* ShareaSale

You can find more good affiliate networks in our list of affiliate networks.

You need lots of traffic

If you already have a busy site and the product you choose to promote is attractive to your visitors, you should start earning money straight away. If you have a new, low-traffic site, you have a lot of work ahead of you.

Several times I've seen suggestions that to make reasonable money from a website you need at least 500 unique visitors a day. That seems about right IF you have a very tightly targeted audience - and also have a newsletter which gives you more income and helps remind people about your site.

Some website owners laugh at the 500-a-day figure and say you need at least five times that figure. (My websites attract thousands of visitors every day.)

Numbers alone aren't enough - you need to build trust and credibility.

Merely attracting traffic isn't enough. You have to learn how to encourage people to click on the links and buy something. So make sure you promote really good products.

Affiliate marketting tips

So who is ready to make some money with halloween costumes affiliate programs? If you are a smart affiliate then you should have already some sites ready to roll by now. The industry generates around 6-7 billion dollars each year in sales! There are some things you need to know before you jump into this halloween affiliate craze though. According to this article what drives Halloween costumes sales are the adults :) which is how you should be targeting your marketing campaigns.

Everyone knows that sex sells right? Well your banners should be as sexy as can be lol. Within the next 2 months the sales are going to skyrocket and affiliates are going to make a killing if you know how to drive traffic of course. The cool part is that your targeting is massive and large media buys will do well I imagine. I am getting ready to do some testing this year with this.

There are some good affiliate programs out there that you can join as well.

Here are a few I found:

Costume Super Center – Affiliate page (Linkshare)

Halloween Express – Affiliate page (CJ.com)

Costume Express – Affiliate page (CJ.com)

Those 3 are the top ones in the industry. They all offer adult costumes which is the key. I highly recommend that you sign up with all of them (for split testing) and see if you can get some sales. It’s going to be easy money over the next 2 months.

Get some nice HOT banners made and get to work. What’s cool is that women are going to be going crazy over sexy costumes and a lot of them have kids so basically you will get higher average order if you target women. Of course guys will want their girlfriend to look hot as well :)

Anyway, here are some tips on how to promote these programs.

1. Create a site and go for SEO (too hard to do at this point. You should have thought about that like in January, but there is always next year)

2. Have some articles written and distribute them with links to a blogger blog with your affiliate links

3. Buy banner ads ( large media buys for Halloween costumes will do well over next 2 months)

4. Facebook !!!

5. PPC – obviously you need skill for that. Just direct linking might not work. I would get a WordPress site set up with some good content before trying this out.

Obviously I am not going to tell too much, because I am going to run some campaigns of my own this year, but there is room for everyone. Just get creative and get something going. Don’t just sit and do nothing after you sign up for their affiliate program. Get traffic anyway you can. Even if you don’t make too many sales you will get some data and you can always get ready for next year.

SEO Tool

How Does The SEO Book Keyword Tool Work?

This keyword tool is powered by Wordtracker's API. You can explore more keywords by subscribing to their powerful keyword research tools.

Background Keyword Research Video:

Our Free Keyword Research Tool :

* Offers rough suggested daily search volumes by market for Google, Yahoo!, and MSN.*
* Links the search volumes to the related global search results.
* Provides links to price estimate tools from Google AdWords. That Google AdWords tool shows the necessary bid to rank #1 for 85% of queries, and roughly how much traffic you could expect AdWords to send you based on that bid price and ad position.
* Links to Google Trends, Google Suggest, Google Synonyms, Yahoo! Suggest, and Keyword Discovery keyword research results.
* Links to various vertical databases like Topix.net, Google Blogsearch, and Del.icio.us to let you know if people are talking about your topic and what types of resources they are referencing.
* Is driven off the Wordtracker keyword suggestion tool. If you sign up for a Wordtracker account they offer many additional keyword research features and tools that are lacking in our basic keyword tool.

Want more free PPC or keyword research tips? Need more Keyword Research Data?

* If you use pay per click marketing you are probably best off using Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft AdCenter over the smaller PPC engines due to typically higher click quality and faster feedback loops.
* Wordtracker offers a valuable subscription based keyword research service and has a free keyword research guide [PDF]. Wordtracker also sells lists of top search terms at various price points and depth.
* Compete.com offers affordable competitive research reports. Snoop on the competition with Compete Search Analytics. Don't be left out!
* Aaron Wall offers a free Google AdWords & Yahoo! Search Marketing Tips PDF and lists many other free keyword research tools, and includes offers a few free keyword research videos on that page.
* Dan Thies's SEO Research Labs offers professional keyword research services and this free 75 minute keyword research video.

Tool Limitations:

* Tools can only provide helpful information and estimates. Don't let tools make your mind up for you!
o Don't expect precise quantitative analysis from keyword tools.
o Use tools for qualitative and relative analysis.
o People tend to typically use language in similar patterns. If there are 14,000,000 search results for ["car hire"] and only 2,000,000 pages for ["hire car"] then odds are car hire is a more common search term.
* Since we estimate Google, Yahoo!, and MSN traffic based on Wordtracker's keyword data, any sampling error is amplified due to the difference in traffic.

* Please note our tool currently assumes Google having ~ 70% of the market, Yahoo! having ~ 20% of the market, and MSN search having ~8% of the market, and is based on rough math that is less precise than Wordtracker's computational techniques.

Depending on your topic / vertical and your geographic location the search engines may have vastly different search volumes. The tool can only possibly offer approximations. Exact search volumes are hard to find due to vanity searches, click bots, rank checkers, and other forms of automated traffic. Exceptionally valuable search terms may show far greater volume than they actually have due to various competitive commercial forces inflating search volumes due to automated search traffic.
Want More Keywords? Try Wordtracker

Wordtracker has many features lacking in this basic keyword tool. You can subscribe to Wordtracker to get deeper keyword research data.

Why Small Advertisers Can’t Use Adwords Anymore!

Remember back in 2001, during the good old days (of the internet) when you could actually use Google Adwords as a means to drive quality traffic to your website, at an extremely low investment to the advertiser? Back when niche keywords cost .05 – .20 per click and if you really wanted to open up your pockets and bid on broader terms, you would pay .25 – .75 per click.

Now days you would be so lucky to find a niche where you can pay under $1.00/click. What I am saying is that the days when small advertisers could gain visibility (at least in the paid results) on Google are over. Small advertisers don’t have a budget to “test” keywords, landing pages, offers, etc… For a small, local businesses, $250/month is a lot of money!

The problem is that over the past 10 years, the competitive landscape has gotten much more saturated. There are bidding wars between advertisers to push their ads towards the top. I know, I know…Ad Quality Score plays a factor in how much you pay per click, but I’ll tell you something, if you have deep pockets and are willing to pay a lot per click…Google will put you at the top. So when push comes to shove, the big brands and large corporations with the bigger budgets, are the ads that are still going to be showing.
The Solution

So what can small, localized business do? The good part is that there are so many new and innovative ways you can drive traffic to your site. Just to stay focused on Paid Search, you can try newer ad platforms like Facebook Ads and MyAds (Myspace Ad Network). Facebook Ads in particular has been getting a lot of attention recently because the CPCs are reasonable, you have a ton of awesome targeting options, and…oh yeah…Facebook gets a ton of traffic!

To the Small-Business Owner: Don’t let Adwords put a bad taste in your mouth about paid search. Paid search can still be a valuable marketing tactic; you just need to find other outlets that can still drive quality traffic at lower costs. I would strongly recommend to keep your mind open to other paid search techniques. It may be that you can drive the same amount of traffic that Adwords would bring you, with Facebook and MySpace ads at half the cost.

Using best practices to increase ROI:

* Create relevant landing pages
* Use strong call to actions
* Use free content as a means of lead generation
* Use promotions and timely specials to entice user action
