Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 11:27:09 GMT by Alan McIvor
Blekko is an interesting new search engine currently in Beta. As there will be plenty of people doing general reviews, I thought I would concentrate on looking at what Blekko can offer in terms of links. Link builders in particular will be keen on finding out what Blekko can do and they won't be disappointed with the search options available with every search. Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 06:49:03 GMT by Cynthia Boris
Everyone knows how important it is to market to moms, but what about dads? A survey by the newly formed Dad Central Consulting (an off-shoot of Mom Central Consulting) says that 92% of dads put on their special "Dad Lens" when shopping for the family. What this means is that they use a different set of criteria when choosing items such as groceries, cars and home entertainment, than they used before they had kids. For marketers, this is a significant piece of information.

Industry Specific Link Building Tips
Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 05:07:55 GMT by Nick Stamoulis
Link building like everything else out there in the search marketing industry is changing on a constant basis. Cookie cutter approaches really don't work anymore and it takes some real creativity to really build up some nice links pointing to your website. Going through the notions of link building is still very important but trying to think outside of the box is what it is going to take in order to really take link building to the next step.

Rand Fishkin Interview

Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 04:27:33 GMT by Aaron Wall
It is no secret that in the past Rand and I have had some minor difference of opinions (mainly on outing). ;) But in spite of those, there is no denying that he is an astute marketer. So I thought it would be fun to ask him about his background in SEO and to articulate his take on where some of our differences in opinions are. Interestingly, it turns out we shared far more views than I thought! Hope you enjoy the interview. :) Throughout your history in the SEO field,

Bing + Yahoo at 24% Share?
Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 23:29:24 GMT by Andrew Goodman
One real benefit of the impending consolidation of Microsoft and Yahoo's paid search programs will be, I hope, added visibility into their true market share. The latest Hitwise report on search engine market share in the US shows Yahoo and Bing combined still managing to drive 24% of searches in the marketplace. Yet anecdotally, this doesn't stack up well with what businesses are actually managing to spend on clicks through the paid search platforms.

It had a finger in the dyke effect, stopping one writer as twenty more popped up. In other words, it was useless. When video software became common and YouTube hit the web, the studios began battling another, bigger problem, that of the unauthorized use of clips from shows.

Today, Piper Jaffray predicted that Android's market share will pass the 50 percent mark in the next five years. Don't look for the rise to the halfway mark to happen all at once. Google Voice Gives Users Missed Call Notifications
Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 17:59:24 GMT by Chris Crum
Google is now letting Google Voice users get notifications for missed calls. Users can get notified via their Google Voice inbox or they can opt to receive email notifications (or both). This would appear to be another step in Google bringing together your different means of communication. Google Voice already gives you a number that when called reaches you through all of your phones. Google recently rolled out the ability to make and receive calls from within Gmail.
